 The government has also made the process of linking an Aadhaar card with a driving license easy.  A driving license is issued by the Ministry of Highways and Road Transport.  The government has given an easy option to the citizens to link it with Aadhaar.  If you want, you can link your driving license to Aadhaar by following some steps online.  For this, you have to follow these steps.

Driving license to Aadhar Linking Process

 ● You must first go to the website sarathi.parivahan.gov.in.

 ● Now the state of your DL will have to be selected.

● Now a window will open in front of you.

● Click Apply Online in the menu bar on the right here.

● After this, click on Services on Driving License (Renewal / Duplicate / Aedl / Others).

 Now a new window will open in front of you.  Here again, the state details will have to be given by the person with his license.  After filling, click on Continue.

 Enter your driving license number here and enter the date of birth, then click on the 'Get details' tab.

 Details of your driving license will be shown.  After this, click on the proof.

 Now enter the 12 digit Aadhaar number and registered mobile number here.

 Keep in mind that it should be the same mobile number that you have linked with Aadhaar.  Submit

 After this, an OTP will come, which has to be confirmed after entering.

 After the details are confirmed, the confirmation message will be received on the email ID and mobile number.

What are the benefits of a Driving license to Aadhar Link?

 There are many benefits of linking driving licenses to Aadhaar.  Its biggest advantage will be that illegal licenses will be banned.  Many people hold more than one driving license, while according to the law a person can only hold one license.  Those possessing a fake driving license can be easily detected.  The license holder can also be traced in the event of an accident or vehicle theft.

 Is it necessary to link Aadhaar with a driving license

 Currently, it is not necessary to link the driving license to the Aadhaar card.  It is voluntary.  For the time being, you can link your Aadhaar to DL for safety.
