Under this policy, social media influencers will be provided 4 to 8 lakh rupees to promote the schemes of the UP government. That is, the media influencers who promote the schemes of the UP government will be provided financial amount. On the other hand, those who post ‘inappropriate, indecent and anti-national’ things on social media may also have to go to jail.

The Information Department has classified the influencers and agencies for this work into four sections based on their follower count. This policy has been opposed by opposition parties. It has been told in the policy that according to the category, the influencers of X, Facebook and Instagram will be given five lakh, four lakh, three lakh and two lakh rupees every month to advertise the UP government. Eight lakh, seven lakh, six lakh and four lakh rupees per month will be provided on YouTube through video/ shorts/ podcasts. That is, the influencers will get money according to the post. Under the UP Digital Media Policy, the influencers will have to make content, videos, tweets, posts and reels on the government’s schemes and achievements. On sharing these materials on social media, cash payment will be provided to them.
