Government sent notice to 1.50 lakh beneficiaries of PMAY! Know what action is being taken by PM Awas Yojana News


A major step has been taken in Bihar under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, in which notices have been issued to more than 1.50 lakh beneficiaries. This notice has been given to not build or complete pucca houses despite the required amount deposited in their bank accounts. Bihar Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar said in the assembly that the department has also filed a ‘certificate case’ against the 19,495 defaulters who have not built houses despite the government approved the total amount several months ago.

The main objective of this scheme is to provide pucca houses to the poor living in the village and countryside, including all basic facilities. Financial assistance of Rs 1,20,000 per unit is provided to build houses in plains, while in hilly and inaccessible areas, Rs 1,30,000 per unit is provided. 60 percent of the scheme is provided by the Central Government, while the remaining 40 percent amount is borne by the state governments.
