That means only eligible beneficiaries should get the benefit of the scheme and no ineligible person should be able to avail the benefit of this scheme.
E-KYC will be mandatory
The e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) process has been made mandatory for all ration card holders. Its objective is to verify the identity of the beneficiaries and prevent fraud. Through the e-KYC process, it will be ensured that ration is being distributed only to the eligible beneficiaries and no eligible person is deprived of the benefits of the scheme.

According to the new rules, biometric authentication will now be required before receiving ration. Under this process, the beneficiary will have to get his fingerprints or iris scanned, which will confirm his identity. This step has been taken to bring transparency in the ration distribution system and reduce fraud. With this new rule, only the beneficiaries will get the benefit of the scheme.
