The Hubble telescope is an astronomical telescope that is in space, not on the surface of the Earth.  The telescope was placed in space on 24 April 1990.  Since then, till date, more than 7 lakh photographs have been sent, which contain galaxies, nebulae, stars and other things.

 * The Hubble telescope is named after Edwin Hubble, the grandfather of modern astronomical science.
 * The telescope was programmed to launch in 1983 but did not launch due to some technology reasons.
 * The total expenditure for sending the Hubble telescope at that time was $ 161 million.
 * The first mission lasted 11 days to fix the Hubble problem.
 * A total of 5 servicing missions have been carried out so far.  The first mission was in 1993 and the last mission was in 2009.
 * Did not send a servicing mission after 2009 as the scientist is about to launch a bigger astronomical telescope in 2020.
 * Hubble weighs 11 tons.
 * Length of telescope is 13. 2 meters.
 * Makes a round of the Earth within 95.47 minutes.
 * Scientists believe that even if we do not send a servicing mission, the Hubble telescope can work between 2030 to 2040.
