You can link Aadhaar with bank accounts online.  It can do this through the bank’s mobile application or Internet banking.  However to avail these facility you must be registered with the bank for service.

Internet banking method to link aadhar to bank

  1. First login to your Internet banking account.
  2.  After logging in, look for options like ‘Add aadhar card’ or ‘Link to Aadhaar’.
  3.  After selecting the required option, fill in your Aadhaar details like your 12 digit number, check again and submit again.
  4.  Once the information is verified, the linking will be successful.
  5.  This is a hassle-free way to connect your Aadhaar to your bank account.

SBI Internet Banking Method to link aadhar to bank

  1. log on to www.onlinesbi.com
  2.  Now navigate to Link your Aadhaar number under My Account, it will appear on the left panel of the screen.
  3. Choose Account Number in next page
  4.  Now input the Aadhaar number and click submit.
  5. Now the last 2 digits of the registered mobile number will be displayed to you.
  6. Mapping status will be given to your registered mobile number.

Branch method to link aadhar to bank

  1. First go to the nearest branch of the bank in whose account you want to link your Aadhaar.
  2.  Then collect a copy of the form that facilitates linking.
  3.  After that fill all the required details in the form like bank name, bank account number, name, age, Aadhaar number and mobile number.
  4.  Submit the form with a copy of your Aadhaar card.
  5.  The bank account will be linked after verifying the information by the bank representative.

ATM method to link aadhaar to bank

Bank account users can link their Aadhaar card to their bank accounts by visiting their specific bank ATMs.  Most banks offer this facility except a few.  To initiate linking via ATM, follow the steps below.

  1. Swipe your card at the ATM and enter the PIN to proceed
  2.  Choose the registration option which is available under the Services menu.
  3.  Now choose Aadhaar Registration option under Registration.
  4.  Then select your account type (Current / Savings Account) and enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number in the space provided and re-enter.
  5.  Submit information now.
  6.  A Confirmation message will be displayed on the screen confirming the successful linking.

Via SMS To Link Aadhar To Bank account

Account holders can link their Aadhaar to bank accounts through an SMS.  Before using this mode, cross-check with your bank if they provide this facility to link Aadhaar to your bank accounts.  Furthermore, the SMS format can vary from bank to bank.  Follow the steps below to use this mode.

  • Send a message in the format given below the number used by your bank for this purpose.
  •  UID <space> type your aadhaar number <space> your bank account number

Via mobile app to link aadhar to bank

Every bank has its own mobile app which comes with Aadhaar linking feature.  You need to get the mobile app of your bank and follow these steps to start the linking process.

  1. Download the application and log in.
  2.  Update my accounts> Services> Aadhaar details 
  3.  Then enter your Aadhaar number and submit the information.
  4.  After the linking is successful, you will receive an acknowledgment message through reliable means, the above steps are general in nature and the process may vary from bank to bank.
