Energy Crisis Essay

The evolution of man has come a long way. This was the greatest achievement of primitive man when he discovered fire with the help of a stone. Due to this, human history progressed very rapidly. Later, many discoveries and inventions were made which completely changed human life. Energy is one such great invention which has made our life more comfortable. It has become the most urgent need for us. has also created a crisis.

In today’s industrially advanced world, the demand for energy is increasing day by day. We have machines and factories, we have buses, cars, trains and planes, and ships and submarines. Energy is needed to run them but not only that. Man yearns for a comfortable and comfortable life. So, he has become a little but lazy. He doesn’t even like turning his watch. Therefore, energy is being used to power watches and clocks, typewriters, shaving razors, and many other things. It seems as if there is no energy, everything will be paralyzed. Wood, later coal, was the first source of energy. Then came the oil and passing through the phase of nuclear power, man is now looking towards solar energy.

We are naturally anxious to think about our future because we know the bitter truth that finally a day will come when we will have no coal or oil. This would mean an energy crisis, for which we ourselves are responsible. Those who have calculated carefully think that at the current level of exploitation, coal deposits will last by 2080 and it is also true that poor quality coal with only 40 percent carbon content is not conducive to generating electricity.

It is also very difficult to exploit the uneven distribution of coal. Therefore, man is looking for other sources of energy. Our current hope seems to rest on nuclear power.

Nuclear energy can be obtained through both fusion and fission processes. Both these processes release a huge amount of energy from the small amount of fuel but we should be aware of the fact that nuclear power is fraught with risks. The use of nuclear energy gives rise to pollutants and hence pollutes our environment. In fact, the pollution from the use of nuclear energy from the fission process is far more harmful than the pollution from the burning of fossil fuels. Dangerous nuclear radiation can damage cells and cause irreparable damage and, in some cases, even death.

Thus the world will face a serious energy crisis. The situation in India is no better. With the increasing population the demand for energy is increasing day by day. Since India has limited reserves of coal and oil and power generation from coal and oil is also very expensive, the government is taking steps to supply energy for non-commercial purposes from various sources like bio-gas.

Scientists around the world are trying to meet this challenge. They are trying to harness solar, water, and wind reserves. Hydroelectric power is cheap, so are air mills. There are also bright hopes for man from solar energy. However, setting up the necessary infrastructure to harness solar energy is very costly. Giant disks are created to focus sunlight onto thermal generators that use this sunlight to generate energy.

Thus we have to make every effort to save us from complete darkness.
