Women’s Welfare Schemes

Mahila Samriddhi Yojana has been launched to empower women. Under this, ₹ 2,500 per month will be given to every eligible woman. A provision of ₹ 5,100 crore has been made for this scheme. This scheme will help in making women financially independent.

Healthcare reforms

A budget of ₹ 6,874 crore has been kept for improvement in the health sector. It plans to build 400 new health and wellness centers. Apart from this, under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, Delhiites will get insurance coverage of up to ₹ 10 lakh. Emphasis has also been laid on the construction of modern hospitals and digital health missions.

Yamuna Cleanup Project

A provision of ₹ 500 crore has been made for cleaning the Yamuna river. In this project, 40 new sewage treatment plants will be installed so that only pure water enters the river. This step is important towards environmental protection and providing clean water to Delhiites.

Infrastructure development

A budget of ₹ 1,000 crore has been kept to improve the connectivity of Delhi-NCR. Apart from this, a provision of ₹ 3,843 crore has been made for road and bridge construction. Focus on improvement in slum areas and housing construction for the poor.

  • CM Shri School: Under education reform, ₹ 100 crore has been allocated for establishing new schools.

Transport and public services

  • Emphasis has been laid on Delhi Metro expansion and public transport reforms.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta criticized the previous governments and said that Delhi had lagged behind development in the last decade. He described it as “corruption -free” and “disability” budget. However, the opposition has called it a budget to fulfill election promises.
