Main points of the new system of UDID card
The government has made some important changes in the new system of UDID card and disability certificate:
- Colour-coded cards: As per the new rule, UDID cards will now be issued in three different colours:
- White: Less than 40% disability
- Yellow: 40% to 79% disability
- Blue: 80% or more disability
- Time Limit: Medical authorities will now have to issue the disability certificate and UDID card within three months.
- Permanent Certificate: Persons with irreversible disability will now be issued permanent certificates.

- Database integration: A central database of persons with disabilities from all states and union territories will be created.
