NMMS Scholarship Scheme 2025: The process of online application for the National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme, which was started in 2008 to prevent dropout of meritorious students from economically weaker sections studying in government schools after class 8 and to continue their studies at the secondary level, will start from November 20 this time. Through the examination, 5 thousand 471 children from the state will be given a scholarship of Rs 12 thousand every year from class 9 to 12 by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education. The amount is transferred to the students’ bank account by PFMS.

Online applications of students will be made through Shala Darpan portal. Regarding which the Council has issued instructions to all the institution heads. Students of government schools who have secured 55 percent marks in class seventh will be eligible to apply. However, ST-SC students have a relaxation of 5 percent.

Selection for Scholarship:

The result will be declared after the selection examination. Only 5471 students are to be given scholarship in the state. In such a situation, district wise and category wise classification has also been done. To be eligible, it is necessary to appear in the district priority list.

Applicants have to obtain minimum 40 percent marks in the selection examination. The minimum cut off for SC-ST is 32 percent. 3 percent reservation for disabled category applicants is as per rules.

Private school and hostel students are not eligible:

Students of Private School, Kendriya, Jawahar Navodaya or Sainik School for National Means Cum Merit Scholarship. Are not eligible. , Students studying in state government residential schools, government hostels and aided schools are also not eligible for the scheme.
