Big change in UPI Payment Limit
There is going to be a big change in UPI payment limit from January 1, 2025. RBI has doubled the limit of UPI 123 Pay for feature phones. Now you will be able to make UPI payment up to ₹ 10,000 from feature phone. Apart from this, the limit for UPI payment in medical emergency has been increased to ₹1 lakh.
Another big change is that now you will be able to add 5 people in the same UPI account. The government has launched the UPI Circle feature in which transactions up to ₹ 15,000 can be done in a month.
New facility for pensioners
Pensioners are going to get a big facility from January 1, 2025. Now they will be able to withdraw their pension from any branch of any bank in the country. No additional verification will be required for this. This facility will prove to be very beneficial for pensioners.
Big good news for farmers
RBI has made a big announcement for farmers. Now farmers will be able to take loan up to ₹ 2.5 lakh without any guarantee. Earlier this limit was ₹ 1.6 lakh. This step will prove to be very helpful in providing financial assistance to the farmers.
Big change in mobile recharge
Your mobile recharge is going to be much cheaper in the new year. TRAI has directed telecom companies to bring separate recharge packs only for calling. This will benefit those people who do not use the internet.
Foreign university studies now in India
A big change is also going to happen in the field of education. Now you will be able to get a degree from a foreign university while staying in India. Foreign universities will be able to open their campuses in India and conduct physical classes here.
Fire warriors will get reservation
There is good news for fire fighters also. Former firefighters will get 10% reservation in CISF and BSF. Apart from this, they will also be given relaxation in physical test and age limit.
Deadline for filing income tax return extended
The last date for filing income tax returns has been extended till January 15. Now you can file your ITR by paying late fees up to ₹5,000.
Online money transfer will be more secure
RBI has implemented new rules to make online money transfer more secure. Now the facility to verify the beneficiary’s account will be available. This will avoid the problem of money going to the wrong account.
Bank holiday information
Banks will remain closed for a total of 11 days in January 2025. These include 4 Sundays, 2 Saturdays and 5 other holidays. Do your important work keeping these dates in mind.
